We have been coming here for over a decade. Not because the people are nice though. They are rude and only care about what makes life easier for them. They have zero concern about if the CUSTOMERS are having a good time. They get away with it because they really are the only game in town. If this were any other business it would go under just because the people running it are so anti customer. They literally act like we are all an inconvenience to them. It's so sad that whoever is in charge just ignores all of these posts. I know several of them have been here for years so it's obvious no one cares about the horrible way they treat their "GUESTS". They have made so many rules that there is no way anyone could know them all and most are frivolous and ridiculous. The only pleasure these people ever seem to have is when they are scolding someone or telling someone "no" or "you can't do that" or "it's against the rules". If you want to have a little fun, when you hear a rule that makes zero sense, ask them why it's a rule. 9 times out of 10 the best they can do is to say "it just is". So so sad because it's a lovely place my family loves.
I was hesitant to stay at this campground because of past reviews and its ranking and I often live by these numbers. What started out as just a quick 1 night stay turned into 2 nights. There must have been a turn-over from past staffing and management because everyone I encountered that worked here was incredibly nice. From the moment I got my site to needing help with my generator the team here became family over the 2 days we were here. I think in life you get what you give and I can tell you this if you are happy and thankful you will meet some magical people at here.
18 bucks for tent camping. The tent only area was a pain to find because we weren't given directions. Camp patrol came by and said there was going to be a huge storm and there most certainly wasn't. Ignored him. They let a couple in at exactly 10 pm and of course they had to take the spot right next to us and proceeded to chop wood for 30 minutes into quiet hours and had their fire going until 1 am. The camp patrol came into our site the next morning all the way up to our tent and woke us up yelling about how we weren't supposed to be there. The hell we weren't. The lady that checked us in wrote the wrong day on our tag. As if that hour of harassment wasn't enough, the couple in the next site stumbled out of their tent in some sort of drug and or alcohol related hangover and walked through our campsite as a shortcut to get their fat selves to the bathroom. They got some pretty choice words about camping etiquette. The reservoir was nice but the water quality shouldn't be trusted to swim in. My daughter developed a fever and got sick to the point of fibril seizures in the following days. The teenagers blasting dubstep seemed to be enjoying themselves.
UPDATE: I haven't changed the wording of my old Post below because it's too soon to tell for sure but I am changing my rating from 2 to 4 stars. We have come up for our annual trip and you can feel the change in the air. The new people are fun and much more relaxed. I'm excited to see if it continues. We're all here to have a good time and when the staff jumps on board with that it really makes for a wonderful place to stay.....
Beautiful campground, very well kept, manicured lawns with lots of room for family activities. It has no hookups, but who needs it. Its worth the visit in trade for time at this lovely campground. I'll return for a week next time as we make my way back to Utah in years to come.
A perfect little slice of heaven. Surrounded by big beautiful trees that offer a lot a shade for the camp ground. Nice campfires at night. Stars for as far as the eyes can see. Just a small walk to the beach. Perfect views of the sunsets through the opening of the canyon. Sunrises over water as smooth as glass. Great place for people of all ages. Clean and well kept. My favorite camping spot.
Torture a grand child take them camping!
